More strands in your brush? Start with breakage, not panic

Notice more hair on the brush? Check how you dry, comb and style before you change your whole routine.

Finding more strands in the brush can feel alarming. Often the first useful question is practical: are those strands breaking along the length, or coming away closer to the root? Broken pieces with uneven ends often point to handling — towel-rubbing, tight elastics, heat on damp hair, or combing from the roots in a rush. Cosmetic care can help hair feel stronger and look fuller, with less breakage when brushing. It does not diagnose why strands leave the scalp.

In Malaysia’s heat and humidity, a gentler wash day helps. Wet thoroughly, massage shampoo for 2–3 minutes, rinse well, then press with a towel instead of rubbing. Detangle in small sections from the ends upward. If you use Dr. M Hydrolyzed Protein Scalp Tonic, apply it after towel-drying: part, mist on the scalp, massage 2–3 minutes, leave in. That leave-on step is for everyday nourishment of the scalp and hair fibre — not a promise of new growth.

Keep expectations cosmetic. “Helps reduce hair fall from breakage” means fewer broken strands from daily handling, not stopping every strand that sheds. Mix shampoo and tonic in the bundle calculator (1 to 5 bottles), or visit an outlet listed in where to buy for a free scalp check.
